Be Counted!

Continued dependence on foreign energy sources means resigning ourselves to these facts:

  • The Iraq and Afghanistan wars will cost $1.6 trillion (CBO estimates*) by 2017, but we cannot get Washington to invest $150 to $300 billion to build a solar and wind infrastructure.
  • Ted Koppel calls this Our Children's Children's War.  Visit a park with a playground today and look around.  Then consider: today's children will be asked to fight in ten years for little more than the preservation of the current petroleum supply chain.

Are we willing to commit to multi-generational war for no greater a cause than the perpetuation of the petroleum supply chain?

  • Resources of dollars, lives and time exist to fight this war militarily at massive expense, yet we are not willing to commit similar resources to strategically eliminate our dependence on foreign energy sources.
